3. Update on school needs: Class funds - Staff have been asked for their wish lists by ASAP. Book fund matching scheme - Brochure arrived on 2nd November. When the school has decided what they would like, they’ll get back to us with a figure.Bus travel for PGL trip is not as much as previous years, so the Friends have agreed to the request to pay £734 for both the trip and the pantomime transport.Netball Team Kit - Carl has designed a logo for the netball shirts. He will place an order for the shirts (£144 for 16 polo shirts.)

4. Events Update: Shopping event is completely organised. A leaflet asking for hamper donations will be going into book bags in the next couple of weeks. Kids’ craft fair, 11th December – meeting on the 15th November to finalise things.  100 club – only 6 potential candidates so far. Agreed that more advertising was needed. Francine to take charge of this. Cake sale made £109. There had been complaints that some cakes were being sold too cheaply. It was decided, therefore, that rather than selling everything at one price next time, the pricing will be at the discretion of the sellers. Tea towel order is being currently proofread by Niki prior to sending it off. All pupils and teachers have contributed. We will need to sell 140 to break even. Parents expressed an interest in buying 238. We will be placing an order for 260 and sending out a pre-order slip to those who have expressed an interest. We will also be selling them at the Christmas events and the concert. The dates for the “bag to school” are 29th November and 27th April. It was decided to advertise this at the preschool’s Nearly New Sale. Concern was expressed about the logistics of collecting bags at school, given that we had decided that collecting them at the pub was unworkable. James is to investigate storage for the 29th November.  The forthcoming sponsored event (date tba) will be a 100k walk along the Ridgeway in 24 hours. It is envisaged that a core will complete the full distance but that others, including children, can do a section. May ball – The Sports field is booked for the Thursday-Monday around the 12th May. There is a meeting for the ball subcommittee on Wednesday 9th November. The plan is to sort out the main issues in the next few weeks and then advertise village wide. The date is not as yet in the shop diary. At the ball it was decided to sell large items in an auction, but smaller items in a silent auction.

5. AOB

Drop box at school was suggested. Carl will check with Mrs Watts. If agreed, James will make/acquire one.

School disco will be 3rd February. 6.30 – 8.00pm

Appleton 10K idea was received positively, but it was decided that more information was needed re insurance, liability and costs before we could agree. Concern was expressed that we had no experience of running similar events. Francine will find out exactly what’s involved.

Friends’ Constitution needs to be checked signed and dated. Carl will investigate this.

Carol concert 15th December. Friends have agreed to provide mulled wine and mince pies.

Next meeting will be on Wednesday 7th December
@ 8.15pm in the Plough
