Several replies came back with suggestions:

•The possibility of half the number of laptops and an area of astroturf
•“Could some of the Friends’ money be used to support equipment/buildings for schools in developing countries? Our children would gain a great deal from linking up with another school”.
•Author visits, workshops – skipping, poetry, storytelling, street dancing. After school special sessions paying for outsiders to teach subjects eg cooking or science
•Is there scope for the school to use the village tennis courts?

The astro-turf appeared to be the popular option, with several comments made about needing more space at break-times and one comment made about the need for less shoe cleaning! One reply questioned whether the size of astro-turf suggested here would be sufficient to ease the break-time problem.

Most comments relating to the multi sports area specified that this would need to be used in break times as well as for planned sport activities. Basketball was also suggested as a sport the children would enjoy.

In 60% of the responses the parent and child voted for the same option.
